HR, IRS, and Other Pitfalls: What Makes a Healthy Cannabis Tenant?

Real estate professionals are working together to attract the perfect tenant to the perfect space, and hope to keep them for the perfect amount of time. Being able to identify the health of a client has been normalized in most retail, industrial and commercial environments... except the cannabis industry. How do you know if a potential tenant is legitimate? Do you know what to look for in the financial documents of business that is federally illegal? What questions do you ask? What are the red flags a landlord should look for, ongoing? The nightmare of real estate manager is to wake up one morning to discover the unplanned exit of a tenant, or worse yet, your building has been seized for an undisclosed amount of time.

In this session attendees will begin to understand that the cannabis industry requires a higher level of questioning and a unique understanding of policies and practices to ensure a profitable and long-term real estate business partner.
