Golf Tournament Committee

Co-Chairs: Torrey Forrester and Lorie Libby, Knight Commercial 

Purpose: Plan and implement the annual golf tournament. To join this committee, please contact us.

Objectives:

• Create budget and pricing structure for the annual Golf Tournament.
• Secure Sponsors and attendees for the Golf Tournament.
• Obtain draw prizes, plan games, and oversee the closing lunch.
• Host event.
• Fundraise
  
  

Committee Chair:

• Plans & coordinates annual Golf Tournament
• Coordinates & negotiates with golf course event planner/manager in conjunction with the IAE
• Identifies opportunities to grow revenue through sponsorships & non-IP involvement
• Identifies and secures approx. 10-12 committee volunteers
• Leads & empowers committee volunteers
• Delegates tasks to volunteers throughout planning of event
• Organizes volunteers for event planning and “day-of” efforts
• Identifies & presents a co-chair possibility to the President for confirmation. The co-chair is not entitled to chair the committee the following year
• Attends bi-monthly Board meetings and annual planning retreat
• Drafts recommended budget for the following years’ event to be included in the Chapter Annual Budget for approval by the board
• Recommend any changes needed to the rule of play to ensure proper flow during the event
  
  

Committee Members:

• Sells golf tournament sponsorships 
• Promotes event
• Creates event flyer/forms/ social media schedule
• Chooses event theme
• Facilitates fundraising and securing sponsorships for event
• Day of Event:  Committee registers attendees, ensures shot gun start is facilitated successfully, is available throughout tournament to ensure decorum as well as meeting needs of golfers, cleans up as necessary post event
  
  

Important Info & Resources:

• Event typically held in September with an early morning start
• The budget for the tournament is included in the Chapter Annual Budget
• IAE negotiates and President signs the golf course contract
• Usually includes coordination and management of a silent auction to garner additional proceeds
